The road to lochranza

It's been an eventful day. Way to much to get down on print tonight. I've taken so many pictyres I don't know which to post. The ride included hills, flats, potholes, ice cream, mad dashes to catch a ferry, stress, discussions, smiles, climbing motorway embankments, route cock ups, rain, sunshine, and it all ended up in a pub in arrun, the most beautiful island I have ever been to.
So tonight I sleep...tomorrow is 100 miles long.

Forgot the name but it's a nice harbour village

The reason why this blog post is late has more to do with beer than WiFi!
As will become appaerent.
The ride yesterday kicked off with a big hotel breakfast and the prospect of a short ride to the ferry. It was raining on and off but not heavy. The hotel owner had said it was rolling hills...one man's hills are another man's mountains especially early in a ride ! But all was well and when we arrived at thievery port early it was time for ice cream ans to relax.....only this wD the wrong Ferryport! So a mad 20 mile dash ensued through traffic on terrible potholes roads navigating through a pokey town and busy a roads. Not ideal and I was not having fun. These are moments when allowing time in a say for unforseen eventualities is a better plan. Climbing up another weed infested road embankment at a time like this isn't good. Anyway we made the ferry with five minutes to spare. The ferry trip.is about an.hour And takes you to the island of arrun. A short ride along the coast , including one pig of a big hill and amazing downhill and we made it to the hostel at locklanzer. Here the dear were roaming free as we arrived, and I could not get the theme from the film local hero out of my head.
It is a beautiful place and a must visit on any Scottish trip. I'll let the photos speak for themselves.
Dinner was on the nearby hotel and twas perfect. That is when I decided to have my first beer in many years. I deserve it .
One ked to six and that was the blog write up sabotaged for the night!
So...now it's time to ride again...long one today...yikes!

Mileage to lochranza syha 85 total ascent 1186metrrs.

Ever seen local hero? Well that is the them tune I had In my head today on arrun. This place is pretty special. I could easily live here. It is just delightful. I'm.to tired to.even.try to do.it justice tonight, but I will be back.here, and I.may very well not leave.
